Came under Coast to Coast. Assigned OK campsite, but treated as interloper when I complained and asked to change. Was offered 2 terrible sites as alternates. Kept the assigned spot. Restroom & shower only OK. Nice pool. Very small site. Could not get reception on Dish Network but I was at the bottom of the hill between the entrance drive and the county road - glad I didn't have small children. Water was muddy off and on all week. Campfires only allowed in raised fire pits. Mostly quiet & pleasant. Trolley pickup and drop off every 15 minutes is good option.
Camping experience there was good - not great. Sites are not level, Wi-Fi is very weak. No cable. Direct TV reception is good, Dish Network is tough to lock in. Sat AM breakfast was excellent. Friendly members and staff. For $30 a night, it is a good deal. We were initially given a free night for taking the sales tour (one hour). However, we joined under promise in contract with new owners that we'd have no maintenance fees for life. Just got a bill for $150 in fees. They changed the rules. This is not a bad place to stay, but be very careful joining. They'll tell you about a water park coming, and several other campgrounds that you will eventually have access to. Turns out they've been saying that for quite a while. Only count on what you see. Expect a contract concern in the future.
Gravel road & sites, nearly level, friendly staff, many improvements & expansion underway (additional sites, ball field, outdoor theater), very close to NC Zoo and Seagrove Potters; good value for above average campground. We'll camp here again soon.
Friendly staff, paved road in changes to gravel for the last quarter mile, very tough angle to turn into the campground. Only a handful of people there, cold pool, very small store. Would recommend for those in pop ups with small children looking for quiet place to spend a few days. Nearby Bryson City Railroad is great day trip for the kids; also near by river rafting & tubing.
